I’m a firm believer in updating my skincare, makeup and perfume with the season. It’s hard not to when our skin also changes with the weather. I know my skin gets a little more greasy in the summer, and I prefer my makeup to be lighter for that sun kissed glow. A more radiant, dewy skin has an undeniable youthful look.
I don’t necessarily want to look younger, I just want to look the best version of me, at any age. I’m so delighted that the pressure of looking younger is slowly being replaced with the desire to look rested and glowing. No Botox or fillers can give that desired dewy, luminous glow but they certainly can leave your pockets empty. Only a thoughtful skincare regime can achieve this. And I can confidently say that using some of the products listed below has helped me to get a bit closer to the destiny of my skin. My skin is softer, smoother, and more radiant.

Legendary CRÈME DE LA MER
The first product I always change with the seasons is a moisturizer. As a long time fan of Crème de la Mer, you can bet I was ecstatic when I got some for my birthday!
Born from the sea with the nutrient-rich Miracle Broth, this legendary cream helps the driest complexions appear renewed and rejuvenated. I have now been using it for over a month and I can confidently say that my skin has never felt more hydrated and firmer! Not to mention that the look of lines, wrinkles and pores appear to be less visible, win win!
This cream is on the pricey side, however the benefits are fantastic and if you decide to purchase it please remember that it must be warmed for a few seconds between the fingers until it becomes translucent, then pressed gently into the skin (this will keep a 50ml pot going for at least 6 months).

I don’t have a lot of skincare or makeup so I don’t change things up too much between seasons, but I am always using extra or heavier moisturising products in winter – my skin really needs it with the cold!

I love about what you say about not wanting to look younger, but wanting to look like the best version of yourself. That’s so inspiring! Every age has its own beauty, the teenage years, the twenties, the thirties, the forties and so forth. Fresh and healthy looking skin is a much better goal than young looking skin. I remember my face in twenties- it was a mess! I still get acne but my skin seems to be improving somewhat. It’s not perfect, but I like to think it looks fine enough.
You’re so right about the Botox and fillers….they can never make a face look healthy. All they can do is froze it. I’m not against plastic surgery, but even with plastic surgery one needs to take of one’s face to keep it healthy. Knowing one’s skin type and choosing the right products is so important. No surgery or procedure can substitute that. It’s better to invest in good skincare than in an expensive and painful procedure. Healthy lifestyle is important as well.
With any kind of procedure, be it filler, Botox or an operation, there is always a risk. I just had an operation of a vocal cords that failed, imagine if it was my face I was getting some kind of implant for and it ended miserably? I don’t know how people can go to such lengths and risk such things for a look that isn’t even flattering. I once watched a documentary about a London’s journalist who came to the states to research plastic operations and ended up getting all sorts of work done. I think most of it was totally unnecessary and although it was at the expense of whatever newspapers she works for, I don’t think it made her happy. She had a pretty face, but what really unhappy with it… most things she was troubled with like circles under her eyes, dry skin and so on was caused by her lifestyle, late nights, little sleep, no skincare, no exercise and so on. Why go through the pain and the risk of a plastic operation when you can achieve equal and sometimes even better results with skincare, I say!
