There’s no question that a theme can take a party from average to jaw-dropping, one of those that your guests keep reminiscing about for years.

One of the hardest parts about planning is coming up with the perfect theme in the first place and if you are feeling a lack of inspiration for an upcoming soiree, this article is for you!

I usually host a couple of big parties each which gives me a perfect excuse to experiment with different themes, anything from Mexican fiesta, spooky Day of the Dead, to sophisticated Great Gatsby! This year I have opted for something somewhat simpler, yet equally spectacular to leave my guests mesmerised and wanting more!

Choosing a white colour scheme as the focal point of focus proved to be another successful soiree and who knows, I may explore some other different hues in the upcoming years.

There are endless ideas when it comes to white parties. The basis is simple, everything in white, from the dress code to the decor, food and cocktails, and you’re set. Let’s get you some ideas then?

Dazzling Outfits

Dressing up in all white is creates a beautiful ambience guests love and the dress code is easy for all to embrace.

Pristine Decorations

Transforming a place is a key and the right decorations like twinkling candles, garlands, balloons and lights always elevate the party mood. Pristine white decor makes for a truly elegant affair.

I find Amazon a great source of ideas. There is so much to browse and compare, plus the next day or even the same day delivery has come handy more than just a few times.

For my white themed party I have chosen to decorate the house with tonnes of garlands, wisteria vine flowers, lanterns and tens of floating balloons. White balloons can create a fun atmosphere in a party, and is a welcome distraction for kids (and not only …).

This theme itself can be a bit tricky and it’s not an easy task not to end up with something reminding of the wedding venue. This is why I stayed away from confetti, fresh flowers, crystals and candlesticks.

Crowd pleasing drinks

White wine and champagne are fabulous crowd-pleasing drinks and Moët & Chandon Ice Impérial Champagne is a perfect choice for the white themed party. Since this champagne is all about powerful aromas, you need a large, wide-brimmed glass or a goblet to enjoy it to the fullest. Chill a bottle 7˚-12˚C/45˚-53˚F, pour champagne first and add 3 ice cubes.

When comes to parties I like to set up individual drink stations accompanied by recipes so my guest can self-cater and make drinks they like or would like to experiment with. This also saves time for the host having to run around playing a bartender.

I usually have champagne/prosecco station, gin with plenty of fresh herbs and fruits, vodka, tequila and a cocktail bar with other spirits (rum, martini, brandy, liqueurs and many more). If you can, pre-make a cocktail in a big batch before the party like a pitcher of margaritas or a punch bowl of sangria.

My personal favourite add-ons are fresh herbs. This is something out of the box for most people, since they normally think of fruits first. However, herbs take your cocktails from average to deliciously unforgettable.

Music & Dance

Without music, a party can feel like a meeting, so turn up the tunes and set the mood with a lively playlist. A mix of current hits with some classic throwback tunes makes for a great party playlist.

And there comes the dancing! Depending on how many guests we have I sometimes set up a dance floor which has never failed. Adding a disco ball, glowing sticks, neon touches like balloons, tapes, make up plus some UV lights are perfect to create disco fever!

Games

There is no great party without a few games. Games give that amazing ability to bring everyone together and inject a lot of energy by adding an element of competition to your soirée.

My favourite has to be a football table which usually and quickly becomes the centre of attention. It’s also a great way to wake everyone up after they have had some food.

Karaoke is also a fantastic festive get-together that puts the host and guests at center stage to sing their favourite tunes. I’ve recently been using ROXi a lot, it’s a brilliant music system which offers a full catalogue of music streaming, radio, karaoke, music games, sound machine and photo visuals via a TV user interface. Music library is awesome, it’s got everything I can think of.

Beer/prosecco/jelly shots pong – absolute classic! Be sure to be transparent with your rules from the beginning. Is the ball allowed to bounce? Are you allowed to hit the rim?

Party scents

I have to admit that I have a little weakness for all of the smellies including candles and diffusers and my house is literally covered in them. My latest favourite, so perfect to energise your guests with an explosion of fresh citrus notes of lime and ginger, Dr. Vranjes Ginger Lime. It comes in different sizes, perfect for any room and occasion.
