There’s nothing more exciting than fall and decorating for the first holiday of the season!
As soon as October arrives I feel like it’s time to break out the pumpkin spice everything and lean into spooky, funny, Halloween-ready mood.
Halloween this year is more than ever one of very few opportunities to truly break from our cosy home outfits and dress up in fun costumes.
So pull out your jack-o’-lantern and your spooky mask, because I’m here to kick off a whole month of frights with the best Halloween ideas out there.
What’s not to like about Halloween celebrations, they’re so much fun and mischief! Just a great excuse to do something different. If you have been following me for a while you probably know how much I love entertaining at home and throwing out themed parties.
This year I’ve decided to go pumpkin everything from house decorations, fancy cocktails, to cute outfits including a little something for our kittens. All it takes is a little effort … and we’ve all definitely got plenty of time on our hands at the moment after all!
PUMPKIN DECORATIONS
I generally get most of my decorations from either Amazon or eBay. I love the variety available and there’s so much inspiration especially on Amazon.

SPOOKY COCKTAILS
In the mood for something boo-zy on October 31?
If you can’t tell by now, I love a good cocktail. I feel like I’m always on the lookout for either a great new wine or a fabulous new cocktail.
There are so many spooky spine-tingling cocktails to experiment with. You can make any cocktail taste a bit of Halloweeny just by adding a few drops of pumpkin spiced liqueur/syrup.
Mozart Pumpkin Spice Chocolate Cream Liqueur
MONIN Pumpkin Spice syrup – great for coffees, cocktails, milkshakes and desserts
How about using syringes instead of shot glasses…spooky!
Shimmering Halloween Martini (my fave this Halloween)
Ingredients
• 2 oz. coconut rum (or classic rum)
• 4 oz. pineapple juic
• 1 oz. vodka (vanilla preferably)
• Ice
• 0.5 oz. grenadine (per glass)
• Maraschino cherries, for garnish (optional)
• Pineapple wedge, for garnish (optional
• Edible shimmer dust
• Red sugar
• Cointreau and red sugar to garnish the glass rim
• 1oz – 28ml
Instructions
Garnish the rim of the glass with Cointreau and red sugar. Pour rum, pineapple juice, vodka, shimmer dust and a few ice cubes in a cocktail shaker and shake until cold. Strain into martini glasses and slowly pour 1/2 ounce of grenadine into each glass.
Don’t forget to invest in some spooky glasses!

Even though this year’s spooky celebrations are not exactly the same, it’s important to remember that we don’t need to surround ourselves with dozens of people to have fun, it only takes two and a bit of willingness to tango!
Get your pumpkins carved and costumes ready because the spookiest night of the year is almost here and all the ghouls and ghosts around the world are ready to come out to play!
