From futuristic colours of metallic silver and gold, to tonal brown and pale pink, fashion’s throwing some frivolous, and some revolutionary ideas our way next season which is now just round the corner. There’s nothing to stop you from getting ahead of the pack and working a few of these into your wardrobe right now. These are the hues worth noting.
Pale Pink
Are you tired of hearing the term “millennial pink” thrown around endlessly in the fashion space? Well, come fall, you’ll probably come across only (or at least mostly) its toned-down sibling, pale pink.
Power Red
If there’s one hue that screams A/W 17 from a mile off, it’s red. I’m so excited about this trend, red is such a powerful and empowering colour. 2017 is all about women owning their power in the color of love and fire.
Guys if you remember July was the month of Red on my blog, see more here and here. It’s nice to see this trend transitioning to Fall/Winter now. In fact, it just so happens to be the most flattering colour on all skin tones, so it’s a win-win.
Burgundy
Colour that almost always takes the stage during the fall season is the fabulous burgundy. Rich, deep, and regal, the shade proved ideal for monochromatic looks, and elsewhere paired well with periwinkle or bright red. It is also featured on my blog in July here and here. Though officially falling under the red palette, it is not a shade that is exactly red but is classified in that way because it marks the color of a red wine – burgundy.
This season brings burgundy pieces in all shapes and sizes — from luxe dresses and cozy sweaters to buttoned-up coats. I’ve gone ahead and picked some fabulous burgundy beauties, so you can update your closet with nothing more than a few clicks.
Chocolate Brown
The chocolatey hue everyone wore in slack-form during the ’90s (think Kate Beckinsale) is making its way back and is becoming the new black!
Fall’s known for favouring warm tones, but something about brown is overtaking camel as the neutral du jour feels almost political.
Golden Girls
Yellow isn’t always the easiest color to wear, but for fall, designers turned to more forgiving shades of goldenrod and saffron. Universally flattering thanks to its warm tone, adding even the subtlest of gold pieces lends a fun, luxe twist to any outfit.
Heavy Metal
Calling all magpies, oh hello it’s ME! Swathed in silver sparkle, designers offered all sorts of ways to dress like the disco ball of your dreams this season, on everything from cocktail dresses to going-out tops.
